I haven't been on here for a while and have tio say, I'm shocked to see that the numerous previous topics, many which were of personal interest to me, have been removed.

Does anyone out there know why this is and what is going on?

Perhaps someone from HCC could explain why these posts are no longer, please. It is very annoying , as all the previous posts and topics were perfectly relevant.

Sometimes people don't like what others have to say,  were the topics offensive,  bad language etc?

You usually have to abide by certain rules when you post on forums,  perhaps the topics you mention broke some rules and have been removed for that reason?  anyway I am sure some-one from HCCF will reply to your question.

Respect the wisdom of people in council.   Once you give an idea to a council meeting it no longer belongs to you.    It belongs to the people. Respect demands that you listen intently to the ideas of others and that you do not insist that your idea prevail.      Indeed you should freely support the ideas of others if they are true and good, even if those ideas are quite different from the ones you have contributed. The clash of ideas brings forth the Spark of Truth.

Yeah. Its been shocking. There could be many good topics to be discussed on. Still, only few are remaining in the forum index.

The Care Forum dont have much to s ay about the missing topics and dont think youll get an answer from them Mathew.

They just had to apply for the contract I hear and to get their funding again. Think you must assume it'll be to do with that ,

Marlinyake , anyone can start up a new topic so if you have something interesting to chat about go for it.

I've been lurking on here sporadically, for the last few months.

'Big Brother' at the HRC appear to have removed topics and posts they don't like the look or sound of, ie if there was anything that could be conscrued  as critisism of them.

In my opinion, there were a pretty fair minded bunch posting on here previously. However  they appear to have taken to lurking these days, as intelligent, constructive  debate doesn't appear to be welcome on here.

A ' connecting care forum'? Don't make me laugh.

Matthew, Thank you for your comments. Topics that are not actively under discussion are closed and archived after a set period in order for the forums to remain up to date. The website has limited capacity and we cannot display the topics indefinitely. At the moment we do not have the facility for users to favorite posts and return to them later but this is something that I would like to develop in the future. I have been in post as the information co-ordinator for Connecting Carers since Nov 2011 and I have not removed any posts or topics due to community rules violations. Cheers Dwynwen

Dwynwen - Thank you for your reply.

If this is the case ( archiving dated topics) how come the ' young carer in Hollyoaks' topic is still active, please?

It's been on the forum for almost 2 years! I joined around in Jan 2011,   and all my posts from then are gone.

Particuarly annoying is the removal of the ' are people being bullied' topic, which had over 900 hits and was clearly relevant.

Thank you for your reply as you have rightly pointed out not all the archiving has taken place yet but it will be completed in the near future. I'm sorry that you have lost posts that you feel were useful for you but the number of hit that a topic recieves is not the same as responses and cannot be used as an archving indicator. If it were then topics that were very popular for a brief period would remain unarchived long after they were out of date. The only clear indicator that a topic is live and relevant is the posting activity taking place within the topic. Feel free to get in touch if you have any further questions on the archiving process. Mathew I apologise for offending you.

Organisations such as Richmond-sense scotland etc are in the 'care' sector t o make money so we cant be suprised that the 'care' bit is not the priority, or any priority come to think about it. Its a sad state of affairs but peo ple are just pound signs to some folks. Social work only care about solvin problems so they dont seem to dig too deep into the standard of care people gettin cuz then they find more proble ms to solve dont they?
