Incresed support for carers is a must and it is great that it is clear objective within the Scottish Government Guidance. i do hope that we can get some quality ideas here.

Topic : A LITTLE DITTY

Mathew,  I removed the ditty as it may get published along with other modern poems,  got to work on the last verse a bit though.

I won't be coming back on this site as it is mostly being used by spammers and lurkers, so it's bye from me.

Susie Doll : I hope we are talking about different people. Having said that, the once respected and revered Richmond Fellowship standards have dropped quite dramatically in recent years. Too many of their staff organize their shift around what they would like to do rather than what the client would like to do. If that means sitting around doing nothing, then so be it. A cooked meal is a rareity. Why cook a healthy, nutritious meal when fast food is only a short car journey away , appears to be the mantra these days. I could go on and on about The Fellowships shortcomings but I would be posting all day and everyone would get bored reading it.

Mathew I apologise for offending you.

Organisations such as Richmond-sense scotland etc are in the 'care' sector t o make money so we cant be suprised that the 'care' bit is not the priority, or any priority come to think about it. Its a sad state of affairs but peo ple are just pound signs to some folks. Social work only care about solvin problems so they dont seem to dig too deep into the standard of care people gettin cuz then they find more proble ms to solve dont they?

Mathew, I think the person you speak of transfered to Richmond when Sense left the area.             Last I heard that person was still employed by them  maybe we speak of different people though.

Topic : Forum Changes

As you may already be aware some archiving of inactive topics has taken place and this is an ongoing task.

In addition to archiving inactive topics there are changes planned for the way this board will be hosted and moderated by Connecting Carers in the future.  If you would like to join the users consultation group for this forum please get in touch.

The consultation group will be involved in developing and testing the new forum space and we'd like to involve as many people as possible with this so that we can make sure our new area is compatible with the many different types of software and hardware that people are using to access the site.

To join the consulation group please email carers@hccf.org.uk or phone the information line on 01463 723 560.

Thanks

Dwynwen

Thank you for your reply as you have rightly pointed out not all the archiving has taken place yet but it will be completed in the near future. I'm sorry that you have lost posts that you feel were useful for you but the number of hit that a topic recieves is not the same as responses and cannot be used as an archving indicator. If it were then topics that were very popular for a brief period would remain unarchived long after they were out of date. The only clear indicator that a topic is live and relevant is the posting activity taking place within the topic. Feel free to get in touch if you have any further questions on the archiving process. [susiedoll 01-02-2012 08:46:34]:

Your post is a bit naughty Delores but I think you get away with it because you didnt mention Sense scotland, Richmond Felowship or social work, ooooops!

'susiedoll' , could you please refrain from using bad langauge on the forum please.

Since when did Sense Scotland, Richmond or Social Work ever sit comfartably alongside ,'Care In The Community!

I'm re-starting this topic as I believe there are others out there with plenty to say on the subject.

I don't for one minute think this topic will be removed if it recieves several replies and views....

I know of one wretched individual - who for legal reasons I cannot name - left Sense after several accusastions of bullying. There wasn't much publicity about it, unfortunately.

Shortly after , the same individual was welcomed with open arms into The Richmond Fellowship which I found disgusting and disturbing. Fortunately enough, this individual didn't last long with Richmond.

Dwynwen - Thank you for your reply.

If this is the case ( archiving dated topics) how come the ' young carer in Hollyoaks' topic is still active, please?

It's been on the forum for almost 2 years! I joined around in Jan 2011,   and all my posts from then are gone.

Particuarly annoying is the removal of the ' are people being bullied' topic, which had over 900 hits and was clearly relevant.

Matthew, Thank you for your comments. Topics that are not actively under discussion are closed and archived after a set period in order for the forums to remain up to date. The website has limited capacity and we cannot display the topics indefinitely. At the moment we do not have the facility for users to favorite posts and return to them later but this is something that I would like to develop in the future. I have been in post as the information co-ordinator for Connecting Carers since Nov 2011 and I have not removed any posts or topics due to community rules violations. Cheers Dwynwen

If so where is the money coming from for the 20  Biomass Boliers they are currently trying to source?

Someone is going to have to pay for these. The estimated cost I understand, is in excess of one million pounds.

Why, with all the well publicised cutbacks, is no one querying this?

Anyone lurking out there, care to raise their head above the parapet and offer me odds on how long before this post is removed? Or perhaps someone from HRC could offer an answer? I won't hold my breath on that one.........
