Highland Community Care Forum (HCCF) is a well established voluntary organisation of some 20 years standing. Working in both urban and remote and rural communities we have built a strong reputation, both locally and nationally, for being the natural place to go to find out about issues affecting users of health and community care services and carers.
From September 2011 HCCF is concentrating on providing support for unpaid carers. HCCF’s services are delivered by Connecting Carers. We work with all carers and are committed to reaching out to carers wherever they live in Highland. From 2012 we will have workers based in some local communities.
Many carers are unaware of the support available to them, the staff at Connecting Carers work with individual carers and groups to help them identify key concerns and work with them to resolve issues.
Services provided by Connecting Carers include:
- Information
- Advice
- Support
- Training
- Befriending
Advocacy services are provided through Highland Carers Advocacy
HCCF through Connecting Carers builds on its experience of working with carers to contribute to local and national policy and strategy.
HCCF is a charity limited by guarantee and is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and employs 11 staff.
Our Funding
In 2011 HCCF was successful in tendering for a 3 year contract to deliver Carers’ Centre Services and Advocacy Services. This is funded by Highland Council and NHS Highland. We also have funding through The Carers Information Strategy and independent funding trusts.
HCCF raises its own funds through its Charity Shop, Caring and Sharing at 68 Church Street Inverness
